Wife was fired in 5 weeks of new job

Just before the pandemic started, my wife went from being a SAHM to starting down a new career pathway as a dental receptionist. She’s got a few years of experience working for toxic employers but she’s worked hard to get to know people and skill up. End of last year, one of the docs in her social network referred her to a new job and she was hired the next day. This office used a different dental software than her previous jobs, but she was confident she could figure it out. Unfortunately, after only five weeks and with zero warning they fired her and said it was due to “making too many mistakes.” She WAS still asking questions, but she never made a mistake that cost them money or couldn’t be fixed the following day.

She also thinks they didn’t like her attitude when the major ice storm came through, the dentists left at noon, and she told the other receptionist she needed to leave early to avoid panic attacks on the way home (wife was recently in a major car accident).

She’s never been fired from a job before and they never gave her a chance to correct things or improve. She keeps wondering if she was wrong to state her needs so clearly. It’s also very difficult since she was blindsided and never got to “say her piece”. She feels the need to confront the owners either in person, by mail/email, or through Google reviews to make sure it’s clear they were wrong. She’s burned out and doesn’t care about getting another dental job, so how can she put her opinions out there in a way that they are most likely to read and respond to it.

I’m totally non-confrontational, so I don’t know how to help her properly deal with this. If it was me, I would try to suppress all emotion and power through to the next thing, but I’m sure there are other people like her watching this forum and could maybe give some worthwhile advice.
