Will unemployment cover me in the event that my new job falls through?

I recently got an offer for 40% pay bump and title promotion at a new company. I accepted and am set to start late April contingent upon background check and references. I don’t expect anything to go wrong but have heard some stories of things falling through after accepting an offer. I know the safest route is to not give notice at my current job until I start the new job. But my current job is a constant dumpster fire and has me feeling pretty burned out, especially since we just finished busy season. It’s been almost a year since I’ve went on vacation and have accrued 3 weeks of PTO. So I’m overdue for a vacation and really wanting (borderline needing) a break. So my question is, if worse comes to worst… I give my notice now to have about a week off before my new start date, and…

So my question is, if worse comes to worst… I give my notice now to have about a week off before my new start date, and my new job falls through. My current job replaces me by that time so I end up unemployed. Will unemployment cover me in this scenario?
