So I recently moved from Alaska down to southeast Florida to be closer to my family. I’ve come to realize how great I really had it in Alaska. I lived in AK my entire life and got diagnosed with cancer at 35 years old (now 41) and lost everything, I never actually recovered financially. After being in Florida I’ve come to realize it’s almost impossible for me to ever get ahead. I no longer have any healthcare, I can’t afford to live alone anymore, Jobs here pay a much lower wage than Alaska with a higher cost of living. I have to wonder how people make it work? Has anyone on here just stopped working to reap government benefits to perhaps get healthcare? Instead of slaving away to simply exist, maybe I’d feel better about myself if I allocated my time to doing charity work and helping others. I’m a very driven person with a lot of energy but it’s hard to stay motivated when all you do is swim upstream when the river is flowing faster than 1 human can possibly swim. Just looking for some input
