Hi! I wanted to share this film with the reddit /antiwork community as soon as I viewed it, not going to lie. I’m volunteering with this film festival here in NYC, I hope it’s okay to share with the community, it would be great to hear more thoughts on this bleak, yet realistic depiction of modern workplace culture on the big screen. I found it to be a humbling depiction of the challenges of an intelligent and professional woman against the “girlboss” culture that emphasizes self-empowerment, success, and climbing the career ladder. SANDRA GETS A JOB is a new Estonian dark comedy directed by Kaupo Kruusiauk.

Sandra is a Doctor of Physics who suddenly finds herself without a job. Getting a new job seems easy, but she soon comes to realize that the job market can be a baffling, comical, and hypocritical place. Can she remain herself and find a job at the same time?

If anybody is interested, the North American premiere is coming up at the New York Baltic Film Festival here in NYC Friday, November 4, 6:00 pm. Director Kaupo Kruusiauk will present a Q&A following the screening of the film. There will also be a virtual screening period from November 5-13 to rent the film. Here's the info for the festival!
