I was hired as a casual fill in for a company that constantly complains about being incredibly short staffed and the boomer managers go on and on about how 'nobody wants to work these days' i endured listening to them and received only 2 days training to run an entire department all on my own, no co workers, no assistance if i needed it. This was running 3 change rooms and a laundry for the entire site. Hundreds of uniforms to be washed, dried split by gender and ordered by Alphabetical and out by a certain time. Despite only having 2 days of training i did my job pretty well, nobody complained about my work and i never had anything sent back to me, everything was going super well.
I had a checklist that was not a legal document and was pretty much only seen by me and one other person being my boomer manager. My trainer emphasised that if i back dated or pre dated the checklist i would be fired immediately because boomer manager sees it as 'fraud' and takes it extremely seriously. Fair enough. I filled it out correctly every day i worked there, never missed a day, never back dated, nothing.
The issue that got me immediately fired is that i filled out one of my days in red pen. That's it.
All my hard work, the fact i didnt make any real mistakes off 2 days of training, the fact i put in free overtime 2 days in a row because someone fucked up a change room twice, none of it mattered because i used a red pen on a non legal document that 1 other person sees. I was never told i wasn't allowed to do this and there was nothing in training about using red pen being some deadly sin, the boomer manager apparently lost their absolute shit over the red pen and terminated my employment immediately. I'm absolutely dumbfounded but it explains their extreme staff shortage i guess.
