I work at Costco and they have a rule that you must work 4 days a week as a part time employee. Which is all fine but that means I want 3 days off a week. I approached my schedule writer about my availability and I said , “whenever you can work in a 4 day work week” and they said , “no, I won’t be doing that”.
I know it’s possibly because other Costco Wholesales in the area are doing it and are fine. Not only that I work on the front end as a cashier so it’s not like they don’t have the man power to accommodate this.
I know they are going to cite “business needs” but honestly ? They just don’t want everyone desire a 4 day work week and make that the norm.
So my question is :
What should I do? How do I drive my point home about a 3 day work week?
