So I work for a big candy distributor and they have us merchandising in stores like Walmart and 711s etc.
Well my job means I put candy on shelf’s when that candy isn’t on the shelf already so it gets our product out there. The pay is good for my area and I’m compensated for mg travel well enough. The issue is that they are sending me 2-3 pallets worth of candy in boxes to my home to keep on hand and bring a small box with me to stores when I go on my routes. I asked my boss to compensate me with a 20-30$ storage unit and the response was it was denied from their manager. I reached out to hr and I said it’s a reasonable accommodation request for a 20-30$ storage unit. I pay rent and I don’t want to give out free space I need to live to my job to store candy in a air/heat conditioning space. So what else can I do or does anyone have suggestions? Is this a issue or is it just me? I’m new to merchandising and I’m so frustrated to have all this space taken up by my job. I have pics for reference but I’m trying to stay anonymous with this for work reasons.
