When I was in college I worked this retail for one of the worst bosses. The guy was a real ass. One time when I driving their box truck to a sale and the tire blew. The road side repair guy said that the tires were really dry rotted and I was lucky. The next day, my boss wanted a formal apology for waisting company money on fixing the flat. That kinda ass.
Anyways, the one day, I came down with a horrible flu. Puking, coughing, fever, etc… I called in saying that I couldn’t make it in because I had the flu. His response was, “I need a doctor’s note or you are fired for not showing up”. I could have went to the ER and got a last min note, but I had no insurance, and couldn’t afford the cost for a stupid note. I went in to work with a 102 fever. I got lucky that this douche bag owner wasn’t in his office for a couple hours. I purposely went into his office; cough, sneeze, breathed, etc, all over his computer, coffee cup, chair. I was so pissed.
Later that week, my coworker told me that our boss was out for the rest of the week because he got the flu…. I felt way better.
