Someone I know has worked in a call center for 1.5 years and has had the same (expensive) headset the whole time.
A few weeks ago, the microphone attachment that pivots started falling off, and was not working. They requested a replacement and were given a used one with no charger and told they would have to buy a replacement If this one breaks/stops working. Same with their laptop.
Considering they literally cannot do their job without a laptop, and barely without a headset (they don't live alone) the garbage their work ia trying to pull has to be illegal right? After 8hrs+ of use a day for over a year things are expected to depreciate.
This is a publicly held company. I was livid when they told me what their company said. Is there anything they can do to fight this? We're talking $500+ to replace either.
