Work time tracker punishes good employees.

The application counts time in two ways. First is time that the mouse is being moved. The second is a small fraction of a second after you release a key on your keyboard. It doesn’t even count time if you hold down one key to continuously type one character.

I have a desk job that uses a lot of Microsoft Office software and I have become very efficient with these softwares. I know all the hot keys and shortcuts. I use so many keyboard shortcuts that my “work time” looks terrible. I get all my work done on time. Never have any complaints from my boss but now I’m worried that this application will make me look bad.

TLDR my company started tracking “work time” where keeping the mouse moving is more important than doing the job.
