I've seen the posts before here about them, but never tried one myself until just last night and I think I will never do one again. Through a friend of mine, I applied to serve at this dinner where the guests are basically paying to be treated like royalty/ be rude and demanding to the waitstaff etc. Weird shit if you ask me but it paid $300 for the evening, which was basically $75 an hour so I figured I would give it a shot.
These people were just awful. I took their drink orders and this one dude makes me bow down to him before I took his order lol. When I brought the drinks back they were just being so rude and mean about how I need to be faster and no wonder I am serving them I am so stupid and all this bs. The worst came later when this guy literally tried to vomit on me! Someone had dropped something and I went down to pick it up and as I turned to stand back up I saw him sticking his finger in his mouth trying to induce vomit. I backed the fuck up and could hear him gagging it was the most disgusting thing I have ever been around. After that I went and hid in the bathroom for the last 15 minutes and apparently they made the waitstaff line up on the wall while they threw cake at them too. The other people working the event didn't seem to mind it so much so they either must just be desensitized and able to play the part or really need the money, but this shit isn't for me.
