Worked on new years suck

TL;DR: Boss demanded I work on New Years and it sucked. So I had been looking forward to my day off all week, but then I get an email from my boss on SUNDAY morning titled “URGENT: Work due.” Apparently, there's this big project that's due on Monday and I'm the only one who knows how to do this particular task.

I'm so sick of this crap. I work hard all week and I deserve a break. But no, my boss demands that I work on my day off and I can't even say no. I mean, I know I can't risk jeopardizing my job by telling him to go screw himself, but seriously? This is just ridiculous.

So I spend the entire day and most of the night working on this project, feeling more and more resentful as the hours tick by. And then, finally, at 3am, I finish it and send it off to my boss. I'm exhausted and angry and I just want to curl up in bed and forget this whole miserable day ever happened.

But of course, the today I get a message from my boss thanking me for my “hard work” and assuring me that this won't happen again. Yeah, right. Like I'm going to believe that. I just have to suck it up and hope that my next day off will be a little more peaceful. Ugh. Working on my day off sucks.
