My boyfriend was seriously hurt on the job 4 years ago. He fell and both his knees literally bent backwards. He has had multiple Surgerys and after about a year of Physio therapy can walk and stand for short periods of time but is still not well enough to return to any job that requires him to stand or walk for long periods of time. He has been getting workers compensation all this time. Which is supposed to be half a minimum wage paycheck. However he's not getting this anymore.
When he first got hurt minimum wage was around $10 an hour now its almost 13 and hopefully soon be 15. He's still getting half of the 10 an hour paycheck because that's how much it was when he got hurt. He's been so stressed because of money he's losing hair. How is someone supposed to survive like this.
He basically had to give up everything and move back in with his mother in order to survive anyone that didn't have the support he had would be homeless. Workers that get injured on the job should be taken care of much better then this. This is just insulting.
