Working for a boss on the Autism spectrum has been living hell!

Let me preface this by saying I have Autistic family members who I love and think are awesome people. That isn't the case with my current boss on the spectrum. I have worked for an Autism organization for the past 8 months, and my boss is on the spectrum. Our interactions are incredibly difficult; I get yelled at and insulted every meeting with him. Despite major accomplishments, I never receive a single positive word from him, only what I did wrong (there wasn't anything wrong…he invents it). Other coworkers and the board members “cosign his behavior” because of his Autism diagnosis. Working with him has become incredibly stressful and I'm feeling like a domestic abuse victim, to the point I have PTSD any time I meet with him. I need the income until I find other clients, but at the same time, it's not ok for someone to be verbally…

Am I wrong here and instead need to focus on how I respond to him? I am highly skilled (make $45-$75/hr). The typical employee here lasts a few months to a year. I have accomplished ten times more than the previous consultants working on the same content.
