I will have to work for at least another 35 years. Assuming the best case scenario that I never lose my job and manage to get a few wage raises by job hopping or other means, during this time I will earn 1.5 Million Dollars.
A mortage for a house or rent – depending on what will be more affordable will cost me at least some 600 000 Dollars. Probably closer to 700 000 with rent inflation/house repairs and interest rate over the 35 year period
With inflation taken into account at least another 200 000 Dollars for food. Then we have gas, electricity, 3 cars over this period, internet, a few replacement phones and PCs, clothing, medical bills etc etc
Thats assuming a relatively low inflation and no stuff that makes life worth living like going out – or traveling etc. A family/kids are out of the question. If im lucky I will be left with 50 000 in my late 60s – which will be gone by my early 70s.
This is just unsustainable. How did the damn Boomers manage to finance all this with just one income and nearly no education?
