Hello group, my gf got a sign on bonus at her current job of $7,500 paid out in 25% increments every 3 months. She is looking to leave this job for a new position, however is concerned that her current job will try and sue her or garnish her wages to get back the money they’ve paid out so far through the sign on bonus. The image posted is of the paper she signed upon being hired. I am trying to tell her that YES, this is a legally binding agreement. However, the new job she is looking to start is saying NO, that it’s merely a scare tactic used to keep employees for the duration. It should be noted that the Administrator has changed 2x more since she started there.
