Would you be a manager?

After reading some of the postings on this reddit it's pretty clear that the majority of the time, management is the problem. I've been having issues at work as well and it's making me want to be a manager to make things better for my coworkers. Now my friends outside of work say don't do it. And my coworkers in my team keep saying I wish you were my manager. It wouldn't happen any time soon, plus I have to go through the potential supervisor program which isn't available yet. Then someone has to quit/retire for the position to be open plus hiring of more staff for there to be a new supervisor. My concern is that I'm being delusional in wanting to do it as it seems everyone becomes a manager but eventually the system gets them and they turn to shit. I don't want to do that. If…
