I work in let's say IT on a contract basis. Not under an employment contract. In my country, this means that a contract employee is assigned a period of work and, accordingly, they are paid upon completion. But I get paid for the DAYS I work, I have a WORK SCHEDULE, appointments, regular phone calls, daily reports, hey-do-it-right-now deadlines. And in general, I like my place of work, the people, the work itself, but oh my god, today my lead told me that this is “unacceptable”, that I answer calls within five minutes (not immediately) and that I periodically have an “offline” status”(I'm just sitting in another window but constantly in touch). Maybe then we will hire me according to the law? Maybe that would be acceptable? No? Okay.
I'm sorry, I just got so upset over this, we talked like normal, I met all of the deadlines, everything's great and then he's bashing me for such stupid things as a five min call answer. Idk, I would got it if I was, you know, actually employed at your place? But I am not? And I already eat it up so?
I wish I had a better financial situation so I could chose what to accept and whatnot and at least get myself a proper contract or a lawyer lmao. Just needed to rant because I don't feel quite appreciated this morning. Thanks for listening.
