i saw the “YOU GOT IT?!?” post and researched michigans labor laws. Typically my schedule gets posted 1-2 days before. Ex; our schedules start on Friday and the schedules get posted Wednesday or Thursday for that upcoming week.
Majority of days for the rest of the year are black out days, meaning we can’t request off. I have another job and an event came up last week for this Friday. I need to attend and can almost guarantee that I will have to work.
Wondering if I should bring this up with my manager. Michigan is an at-will state and I cannot afford to lose this job. I’ve called off 2x in the last month – once because of car issues and once because I had a terrible fever.
Anyway, what would you do?
