I emailed an issue to someone who works in the same company in a different department. His away message said he is on PTO today. It was nothing urgent and could certainly wait until next week when he returns. I was shocked when he hit me up on teams with the information I needed.
When I'm on PTO I do nothing for the company. He's working and expecting to be rewarded with promotions, raises, bonuses but the sad truth is he's a cog and when he's not a useful cog he'll be replaced with someone else.
