This thought is hardly original, but it occurs to me that all through my working life (I am now in my 40s), I have been told that the reason I don’t make more money is because workers are not in demand in my field. Now that they can’t find workers, my pay has (shock!) remained stagnant. Everyone just uncritically repeated the same received opinion, and now it’s being exposed as bullshit. I hope workers are learning. It certainly took me long enough.
