I’m already in the process of interviewing for other positions. While I actually love my job, it’s a very toxic environment, unsupportive, no room for growth. I actually hope that I’m not even here in 2 months, but I will continue to my job to the best of my ability until the last second I work. That’s just how I am.
I let one of my program managers know that my coworker and I will be gone on the same day, in 2 months, so this meeting needed to be canceled. It’s a late in the day meeting, everyone adjusts their normal schedule on this day, so I figured a timely notice would be well received.
It was not. There’s going to be a meeting with the program manager, my direct manager (who doesn’t care), my coworker, myself, and the CEO Where we will be informed that we can not both take the day off that this meeting happens, one of us needs to be there, it’s not allowed.
Clearly we have opposing views on this. As this organization doesn’t own me or my time, I feel they are confused about my polite gesture. Approved or not, we won’t be there, and if you’re not prepared, that’s not on me.
