Zero dollar checks as a server, is this right?

I used to serve when i was 18-20 as a server here in LA and my checks were always a couple hundred bucks while making tips, now im 25 working at a busy restaurant averaging 300 any day i work.. should i be worried that my checks are zero dollars?
