(EDIT: this is literally just me venting)
i work at a sex shop and my last day is tomorrow, but tonight a customer spoke to me like i was a dog and i’m a bit yell-y right now so i’m hiding in the bathroom to cool down writing this post.
a dancer came in (this is not a dancer hate post most of them are so so so kind) and had called to set aside thigh highs, which do not come prelaced. she wanted to try them on and i handed her the boot with every intention of helping her lace them up because it can be pretty annoying and we’re a higher end store.
once i handed it to her instead if putting it on she held it up and shook it and said “are you gonna like… lace this up or something how am i supposed to put this on”. wasn’t sure if she was talking to me because she wouldnt even look at me. i took it and began lacing and after getting it half way done with one shoe (it takes longer when theres not a foot inside but it still had only been like 2 minutes) she said “uhm. i have a driver waiting so can you hurry up?” still wouldn’t look at me in the eye. my manager butt in and told her very professionally, “not really”. i finished the majority of one shoe and my coworker had started another and asked me to finish as they rang her up. while about to grab it she was said “yeah do the other one”. bitch.
i didnt finish the second shoe, instead i laced it so bad i hope it takes her 20 min to undo it.
ive never been spoke down to so much by a customer at this job. im fucking over retail. i make minimum wage.
