I started my new (remote) job on July 11th. It’s only a temp job until the end of August. Last week someone in my team had me work on a file that took me most of the day. My manager asked me to send it to her yesterday. I was doing a new process for the 2nd time, so I was pretty preoccupied and forgot to send the file. She asked me this morning if there was an issue with it, and I said no and apologised and sent it. She said on a call this morning that me forgetting to send the file is a big concern for her, as the team is very fast paced and things need to be completed fast.
She also said she was concerned about how long it took me to work on the process files I was doing yesterday. Someone in my team was checking over every file after I completed it and I managed to get them all finished successfully with only a couple of errors which I quickly fixed. The woman training me seemed happy with this, and said it was fine that I took a few hours to get 2 files done. My manager however said this is unacceptable and that I’ve had enough time in this role already to get used to the work, and that I’m too slow.
I started 2 weeks ago today and already her attitude is making me super uncomfortable. I’m taking notes and trying my best. This job involves dealing with super sensitive and personal data, so I’m wanting to make sure I feel competent and get everything correct so I don’t mess up or cause any data breaches.
Anyone know a good way to deal with this, or should I just leave as soon as I can?
