I've never experienced such poor treatment at any job I've had, but this goes beyond toxic. ​ We've had a new manager take over the last two months who's condescending, insulting (made one female server cry and quit), and generally unorganized while pushing poor rule changes. Today, I was working tables and a customer who I conversated with throughout his stay had left a generous $60 tip when he left, then right after him was a second gentlemen with his wife who also jumped in on some of the conversations who left afterward, leaving a $50 tip, very friendly people. My company switched it's payroll system a month ago. My manager and their manager were both on vacation during the first week of July. Because of both of them being on vacation my paycheck was short for that time period. Holiday time for Independence Day was not entered for me. I was told it would be on my next paycheck. Fast forward two weeks and instead of our paychecks my team got an email saying that we were overpaid for the first week of July. Our paychecks, which should have already been in our accounts by the time these emails went sent, were basically cut in half. On Fridays past my shift, I feel amazing knowing I finally get to live much as I can under my circumstances. But dude, I swear, this has been going on for years, I fucking HATE sunday evenings for the reason outlined in the title. Damnit I just wanna get rich so I can get free from this bullshit.

I (29M) have worked with this company coming up on a year. I saw a position that was more favorable within the company. I spoke with my manager who reached out to the hiring manager of this position and asked about it. The hiring manager informed my manager I was the only internal candidate to apply. I had two interviews with the company and was going to schedule another time to talk once I came back from vacation from out of the country. Once I came back I reached out and I didn’t get a response for a few days. I can easily make the same amount of money working slightly longer days or just 2 regular week days and 2 weekend days as a nurse then working 5 days straight in a row M-F. Yet it seems so many older people just dont understand why someone wouldnt want to work 5 days in a row. I dont seem to understand what the issue is? Why would you not want a day or two off during the week for appointments, errands and just to relax. It seems older people are just so hyper focused on the Monday to Friday grind garbage.
