The truth about the Unemployment Rate
When I have been unemployed, I have only managed to collect around 300.00 a week tops, and only for about six weeks, even though, my income has always been much higher than that, and I have worked years consecutively with no downtime and yet only qualify for a few weeks pay. Now. Once my unemployment pay ran out, I was no longer allowed to log in and state I was still unemployed. So, how accurate can the unemployment rate be if people are still out of work but Uncle Sam no longer wants to hear from them?
Rule #0 wake the fuck up
I been frustrated at work lately, but it has really come to a head in the last couple of weeks. To the point, I started applying for new jobs last week. Last night was a six application evening. I now have interviews schedule for everyday this week, and I already have a job offer. The offer is unfortunately for less then I am making now but still, it feels good. I also know my current employer will have an incredible difficult time replacing me. I am an Web Developer, who built their web application that calculates the values for used aircraft. To say it is an niche area, is an understatement. It requires advance understanding of database structure, math and web applications. My particular frustration comes from having rebuilt the interface to manage the database for the aircraft historical data, and asking my boss to test it for the last…
Get me out of my current job already.
We’re all being lied to
So I work 2 jobs to get atleast 20 hours a week combined. One a government job and the other for a coffee company. I am available to work between the 2 jobs from 5am-10pm Sunday to Saturday. But I set Both up to work around the other one. Today is the 5th time the government job has screwed me into being late for the coffee job and if I complain the paper they made me sign states they have the right to fire me for my coffee job interfering with the government job. I'm sorry but 20 hours a week between both jobs still isn't enough to live on but getting the coffee job is the best I could get so far in the last 3 months of looking for a better full time job to get out of this bullshit sucky government job. And the coffee shop keeps…
So I started this job 6 months ago. I got promoted within the first 2 months as things were going well. As the work piled on, there were a few projects were I fell short on due to a lack of training but otherwise things were good. I have a decent relationship with my manager, but he is also extremely controlling when it comes to some projects and it drives me nuts. (he was the only designer there for 5 years and they have struggled to employ anyone else because of this issue). I thought I had learned to manage that though. Boy was I wrong. Thursday was my 6 month probation review. Although things haven't always been perfect, since no issues had been raised till that point I assumed I would get the offer. I got told I have a 2 month extension to fix a myriad of issues…
