Good thing our jobs care about us! lol
When applying for jobs I use a resume generator and apply to jobs with one click apply This helps me apply to loads of jobs (60 in a week) and it saves me a shit ton of time because who wants to spend all their free time on 2 job applications only to get ignored anyway. I was speaking to an employee from HR (casual conversation) and they said I shouldn’t use tools like this because it’s not fair on the company because they’ve spent a lot of time and resources creating the job specs etc and it’s essentially disrespectful to the company to not spend a significant amount of time on the application. I asked her what’s a significant amount of time, she said you know anywhere between 4-6 hours, we really want people to spend time on their resumes and cover letters so we know they really want…

Mismanaged management
I work at a small, commuter airport where “everyone is family”. When I first started, I was hired part time because that was what I was comfortable with because of my mental health. After about a year, they asked me if I would like to go full time with a pay raise, to which I said yes (after much consideration). Then things started getting bad. People were not showing up to work and not getting in trouble, management was asking more and more with no assistance or guidance, so I started looking into making a career change. I asked to go back to part time under the pretense of having to help my SIL babysit their daughter (my niece) while she went back to work. They agreed. It's been like this since the beginning of the year. Well today I got reprimanded for not asking someone to cover my desk…
My work union
I have worked for two unions. I see a lot of praise for unions. I see people want unions. Unions are good and not bad. But they also are not great and not all unions are made the same. The first union I worked for was some $10 a month membership pseudo union for a regional lumber supplier. It was OK. They still ended up letting me go around 2008 because of the recession and I had worked there for 1/2 years. I got a pay out of my retirement account for like $3500. It wasn’t bad. Pretty fair. But I still got laid off and they still would have some guy watching me work with a clipboard counting my inventory progress Like micro management. Ok. Fast-ward to now. I work for a government and we get a union. It’s $100 a month out of my paycheck. What do I…
Who makes minimum wage?
Who here makes minimum wage or close to it? What do you do for a living and how many hours do you work in a week? Do you have another job? Side hustle?
working for idiots
im not even sure where to really post this, but im assuming this works.. my friends mom posted about a full time position at a department store and i asked her about it and she said to come in for an interview. the day of, she messaged me saying if we hire you can you start today and i said sure. so i get there and work a 12-6. i wasn’t interviewed, i just filled a bit of paper work out and got to work. this felt odd but i was hey whatever an easy job. now my friends mom wasn’t the manager, this store fell to shit after opening and everyone either quit or was fired and the few who stayed worked their asses off to get it on track, including her. she told me she had been there everyday for 13 hours trying to get the store running.…
Our min. Wage for students is 5€
Had to rant, sorry for bad formatting im on phone. I live in a country in Europe, i dont know much about money or laws or anything, i just find it unfair that most of our economy relies on underpaid students to work or if you are not a student but want to work this type of job, then you have to get a permit, pay for it, and you still work for the same money hourly as students. These arent “full time” jobs even though some of them require more than 40 hours of work in a week. We dont get perks outside of healthcare which is covered in our country for anyone under 21 and anyone still a student. We get to walk out without a 2 weeks notice which is cool but they can also fire you on the spot with no severance or any backing on…
Tiktok video Note: he and his friend are doing a reenactment of his annual review with his boss. also, apparently him and his boss were informed, prior to the reviews, that they will be laid off in a few months but they were still expected to do their annual reviews and one of the questions is about what they will do to improve for next year 🤦️ edit: kicking myself for not catching misspelling in title 🥲
