I don't get why there are still people defending this form of exploitation, guilt tripping and gaslighting. It is not your customers responsibility to pay you a living wage. Start calling out businesses for that scam on the back of their employees!!
“Well, what did YOU do wrong?”
I work with disabled individuals and was trying to get in place to help someone out of a wheelchair when I slipped and rolled my ankle. Never done it before and GODDAMN do I not recommend it. I notified my supervisor who asked me to fill out an injury report form in case I need more than a bag of ice on it. Ok, cool. While I'm filling out the form, there's a section that says “what could have been done to prevent this?” It was an ACCIDENT. You can prepare all you like, but accidents still happen. I was tempted to leave this section blank since I feel it's super condescending and it sounds like a way for the employer to shift blame to staff and avoid having to pay out. Instead all I wrote was “mind my footing”. This isn't the only time I felt my employer tried…
So how y’all making money?
I’m serious What y’all doing to supplement income?
The free flow of information is vital in a democracy. The top Reddit news sub r/news will censor and delete 99% of any articles posted. They use a nonsensical algorithm during their selection process to whitewash the flow of information into and out of Reddit. The r/antiwork community knows what happens when you let corporations make the rules and run the game. It's a no-brainer for your community to sub and support r/nomodnews. We love the idea of freedom without barriers and feeling economically secure enough to have the freedom to walk away from a job that requires you to accept the slow degradation of your humanity. A job that allows the vice president of the deep fryer to finger bang you whenever he sees fit. A job that allows that VP finger banger fry fucker to keep his job while forced arbitration creates a working solution to avoid future…
Don’t meant to speak for every American however… Yes, we Americans believe there is absolute paradise on Mother Earth…. Bad health can ruin our lives here. Our elderly are suffering because our system does a shit job at taking care of them. The Education system in our country does nothing but condition us to live like slaves and don’t question it. Politics aren’t doing anything but trying to advertise their agenda’s that doesn’t actually help us and meant to make our politicians and millionaires and billionaires richer. We are selling about 40-50% of our life’s and can’t even get decent transportation to our jobs, hardly any paid time off, not even close to the amount of money we need to live comfortably, and when we stop selling our time on this earth, only a small tiny fraction of us are lucky to have savings built up to take care of…
Just a thought I wanted to put on here. I'm sure it's common here but it's a new route for me. The majority do back breaking work for hardly any pay. They hope to earn enough to relax at retirement, but can't enjoy it. The price was the expense of their youth. They may get a holiday, or RV trip, but will likely be too tired to really enjoy it. Many will break down before they are lucky to even reach retirement. This is so a rich man lives leisurely the entire time. The body can only take so much. Many of us have hands that hurt, backs that go out, knees that can hardly hold our frames. Scars and failed love lives from too many hours at the clock. I respect those brave enough to refuse work. They are only asking for a balanced scale. That everyone can have…
