We have 7males in my office over 50 , even when they were told to not come in on the same day all 5 came in morning abs afternoon. There are two females under 50 and we love teleworking . We also work 4 10 hour days and take Fridays off. Last week boss comes out and declares we must come in every day and not take our extra day off . He tells us that everyone, meaning the guys , are in the office and it looks bad for us to be out . Our company has a telework policy that encourages telework and even states it’s preferred. When I point this out I am told that the last boss asked them to report every 15 min what they were doing while teleworking, which is before we proved we could telework. Fml job is ending
I started a new job back in September. Pay is okay. Coworkers are great, 2 of them I already had known for a long time and one was my best friend. The work is fairly easy, just mixing chemicals to make hairsprays and cleaning products. Cue a week and a half ago. Full company meeting. They are shutting the doors permanently in October. The place has been open over 70 years. It was one of the first aerosol plants in the country. And now after 2 years with it's current owners, they are closing. MF I liked this job too.
Imagine if we cut out all the pointless crap how much less work would have to be done.

I wrote a short essay concerning how I see the United States and the concept of freedom within its boarders. I don't pretend that any of what I say is new or unique, but I figured some of you might find what I wrote interesting. Any critiques are appreciated. We Have Been Lied To We have been lied to. There is no freedom in the US, only bondage and servitude. Wealth and class are the only true indicators of freedom. Freedom comes not from the ownership of capital, but from the ownership of one’s time. The working class is not free because our time does not belong to ourselves. And yet, many are fooled by an illusion of freedom…
I've popped in this subreddit from time to time but not too often so maybe this has already been asked or done before. I was just thinking wouldn't it send an insane message if even a small amount of the people on here all decided to go on strike it no call no show at the same time? Just a thought and maybe the logistics would be too annoying to deal with but I'm curious what everyone's thoughts would be about picking a day in a couple months and sticking it to the companies.
