Cant wait !!!

As I suspected I was just fired.

So in August I put my two weeks in for a job offering me 5k more. My job matched it and I stayed. Little did I know around the same time they offered my colleagues a retention bonus of $5k to stay until March and they had to sign a contract. I was not offered the same. Is this fair? I don’t think my raise should negate me being offered the retention bonus.

I absolutely hate it when I take the time out of my day to apply for a part time position and they reply with interest, but try to trap me into somehow accepting a full time position instead. Shouldn't this be labeled illegal somehow – like misrepresentation or something? Each time this happens, I'll type this reply: “Thank you for taking the time to reply to my application, but I am not looking for a 40h+ position. I will be more than happy to work for you if you have anything available that's between 20-30 hours per week.” Guess what? That's right! No replies! Fuck these people. I saw this from many places including recent DSA’s anti-war statement and a certain moderator of this subreddit. My native language is not English so I’m having a hard time understanding it. Does this mean “There’s not a single war that isn’t class war” or “We oppose (bourgeois) war but support (working) class war”? Thx.

So like the title says, I am a social work intern operating in the capacity of a case manager/tech support/ substitute teacher role at a vocational training organization for adult learners, which specifically works with marginalized communities in our area. We work with almost entirely women currently and mostly individuals of South and Central American origin or ethnicity. And in my time worker here I am so incredibly disgusted by how our society works. Though this last few weeks have really been the last straw. The program I am working with has recently partnered with LifeSpan. Anyone who isn't in the North East will not know, but Lifespan is a massive medical conglomerate that practically owns all the healthcare services in the New England area. My girlfriend worked for Aksarben heating and air in Omaha NE. They asked her to post a job ad. The ad didn't include wage information. Come to find out they were offering $17-$19 to start. My gf has worked there for 2 years and makes $16.41/hr. She said she was going to put her 2 weeks in and reapply at the better wage. The GM said he was disappointed that she chose to do this on the group chat and she needed to take today off and have a face to face at 2pm today. They fired her this morning with no reason. She is one of the best employees they have as far as producing numbers. I told her they fired her for discussing wages with everyone and calling out the GM. Right or wrong that's what happened.
