I don’t know who to listen to anymore.

So I work at fast food and today I had multiple managers tell me different things. We had a sale for hot dogs today and one manager said we can do it at the location and showed me how to do it on the computer system ((No one has told us about the sale untill people were asking.)) But as soon as a co worker asked for help and I helped him the other manager said we are making the sale online only. And this isn't the only time. I am in collage right now and have to leave early. So yesterday it was close to my time to leave but I still had work to be done. My manager ((Who I shall call M)) told me not to worry about it and to go. I come in today and the other two managers ((The ones who don't know what…

Any advice appreciated.

Need advice about going back to work.

My last job, I quit because they changed my job duties entirely 75% of the way through training from desk work to physical work. The job before that, I practically lived at work and was on call 24/7. I was essentially their work slave. I now look at Indeed and there is really nothing I really love or like. The benefits are bad, the pay isn't up to par, and they want you to live and give your soul to your workplace. How do you find something that doesn't make you cringe? A job that is withstandable? or something you love? I'd love to work for myself in time, but don't exactly have the means for that as of now.

I just doubled my income from my last job where my mentor/coach was a total jerk!

I don't know why but my previous mentor/manager was extremely rude to me and had a very short temper. I ended up leaving the job when my contract ended trying to be on good terms, and when I said my good byes to her, she gave me a very rude and sarcastic response for no reason and I just ignored it (remote position by the way, so since we were not face to face her responses may have been more bold). Everyone else on the team was nice and seemed to like me except for her and to this day I don't know why because I've never had this issue at any other job. She basically made me feel incompetent for asking questions and scared to ask because she could easily get mad over nothing. Fortunately I wasn't unemployed for too long because I just accepted a job offer and…

Should I drive 3 hours for an interview ?

I guess I’m posting here because I already know the answer. There’s a company that wants to interview me and it’s in a city 3 hours away, I asked if they could do the interview over zoom or something but they insisted of wanting it in person. Meanwhile I’m interviewing at companies 8 hours away and they’re all happy to do technical interviews over zoom. Is this a red flag for this company ? FYI, I’m a student with 2 years of internship experience and who’s graduating from an engineering program in May.

Sick of helping people and getting nowhere

So I've been working as an administrator in some capacity since I was 18 and I'm just fucking sick of helping people, if the makes sense? Like, I'm always doing things for people that make way more money than me with baaaaasic shit and getting zero credit, I'm fucking done. I also can't help but thinking I get stuck with these roles always because I don't have a penis. Sick of watching dudes with no experience and all verbrado get promotions and raises and stepping all over the women who help them

Instead of raises, make up new roles!

Changing some details to make it more anonymous on the off chance this situation is recognizable to anyone above me, but the overall facts are still true. I work on a relatively small team (~20 employees) for a relatively large company. In a recent team meeting, our director was talking about staffing and told us that over $1 million has been given to the team for hiring purposes this year. They went on to say that our current workload doesn't necessitate hiring additional employees and asked if any of us had ideas of new roles that could be created to let them know. I'm just… baffled. They flat out admitted that every single person on our team could be given $50,000/year raise. But instead they want us to make up new roles for them to hire for work they admitted we don't have the need for. What kind of logic…

Wanting to Return To Office

So currently we are all remote where I work. You should have heard the meeting. “Yes we are trying to get back to return to office status, we feel as if seeing everyone face to face would inspire, and communicate better as well as bring about team spirit.” Of course they have no due date to do that, however that just code for, “I'm bored at home and I want to go back to the office so I can feel good being a micro manager and bossing everyone around sipping coffee and asking other department managers what are they doing for lunch so we can pretend to feel as if our Master's degree's mean something to us.” GTF out of here with that Bool Shyt!!!! Sorry had to vent.

LinkedIn – your manager telling you what you can and cannot publish?

I changed my title on LinkedIn to reflect the more common title for what I do as I was job searching. My current manager is a connection because I stupidly connected with her back when I was new to the job. I hate the job and want to leave. I had deleted the post that showed I changed the job title. I brought up changing the title to her in a one on one since our current title sounds like sales and we are not sales. She said she would consider it. She just messaged me on Teams saying she saw I had changed the title and to change it back. Now, come on. This is MY profile. I turned off my public profile on LinkedIn- does that turn it off to her? What else can I do to tell her to fuck herself? They are such micromanaging assholes. I…
