So I worked for a family ran company for 6 years. A few years back I had a drug induced seizure from withdrawals. It was on the security footage. Well recently they got news that I had a small, weekend long relapse (I’m off the stuff now) and the manager, whom I’ve never really gotten a long with, recorded the footage with her phone and attempted to send it to me via Snapchat as a “wake up call.” Now I had no idea they kept this video and I have no idea who else she has shown this video to. I’m just wondering what, if any, my options are. Any feedback is appreciated, thank you.
I live in WA and work at a small rural hospital that is a part of a public hospital district. Our Board of Commissioners (BOC) provides oversight on big decisions and hiring the CEO. Like many small hospitals, ours has been one that has been financially suffering. But our money troubles have been going on for quite some time. I'll spare a lot of the history, but I have been there for two CEOs. The first one was known for being a tyrant and prioritizing aesthetics rather than patient care – she started the process of the economic downfall. The BOC hired her despite her having run another hospital into the ground in FL. The CFO at the time ended up being promoted as interim CEO in 2019. The BOC learned their lesson from the previous CEO, because when they hired her, they did so under a 5 year contract.…
Punctuality
I have to vent a bit I hope you all can understand. I have never been a punctual person sure for a particular event I can mostly show up on time but being at the same place at the same time every day is just completely unsustainable for me. I know punctual people take it as a personal insult when others are late and I don't know what to say to them to make them understand. It's literally caused me nothing but pain. Tardy slips from the office in elementary school, detention in high school, failed classes in college, fired from jobs. I finally found a decent paying job, remote, that is flexible about hours day to day and this last year work has somehow not been the most stressful thing in my life. Until they hired a new c-level above my team and they have been scheduling 8 am…
I’m gonna preface this by saying I’m a 21 year old who started working when I was 17. ( So maybe I don’t have enough experience to touch on this. ) At my first job I started at 13.69. I ended the job making 13.98. They couldn’t round it up to 14? Anyway, these co workers of mine were making 14. This is after their own raises and being there for up to 5 years. Just 30 cents more then the minimum wage in my area of 13.69. Fast forward to my new job. I meet a co worker who is the most loyal and hard working person I’ve ever met and has worked there 6 years. I end up asking her how much she makes. (I always thought this was a normal thing until realizing after being on here that managers hate it). She’s making the SAME as me.…
I just mentally checked out of my job
I work for a small company that teaches English. I recently got pulled into a meeting about my ‘lack of initiative’. These are the following examples of said lacking: I use my breaks to relax, rather than complete tasks (which are achievable after said break). I fail to communicate with other workers (management regularly leaves me out of communication). I don't lead lessons enough (rather difficult when management often disrupt my activities). It went on, and I just felt tired. I often feel pressured to go above my job description just to be seen as adequate. It may sound silly, but I occasionally cry at home out of frustration. I am currently sitting on my smartphone, looking for new oppotunities. Thanks for letting me vent.
