So I’ve been looking for jobs for a hot minute because I hate my current employer. It’s ran by a bunch of old people that all have the “Nobody wants to work” mentality when in reality, they just run a terrible company. The executive team, that I work with daily, are all well off, living in very nice homes and taking vacations all the time. Our Vice President now only works 32 hours a week, while nobody else that’s full time in the company is allowed to do this. Meanwhile, I’m over here struggling to pay bills, only earning 3 hours of PTO for every 2 weeks I work, and being overworked because they can’t find anybody to hire for the open role in my department so I’m doing the work of two people. Today, my boss came in late, which is unusual for him. I hear him talking to…
I’ve been working in Master Data since I graduated college about 3 years ago. I had a marketing degree but a company interned for offered me a job I couldn’t refuse (cool modern office in the city, other young employees, pay and benefits etc). And I hated it for the 2 years I was there (made way worse by Covid), but I was so lucky to find a job better in every way, including international travel, no expectation of unpaid OT, no dumb gossipy boss, it had everything. And I was still miserable despite everything. I was completely incapable of focusing enough to do the job, And while I don’t care about being bad at my job the anxiety around going into every meeting and being asked questions about topics I didn’t comprehend at all was just billing me. So, today I gave my notice. My boss was as kind…
I hate recruiting people
They reach out to me and ask me if I am interested in a new job and they tell so many shitty benefits. I always thank them for their interest and ask in return, what they pay. Nearly 8/10 mails are always a counter question, what my desired salary is. Dude, you want my skills and reach to me out. So every time they ask me this question, I immediately stop answering them.

So, we had the company wide zoom call. No one got a raise in 2021 or in 2022. Yet, the talking head that doesn’t know when to shut up went on and on about how we grew by 33% in 2021 and so far we are doing 39% better than this time last year. He’s so happy he is giving the sales team a better bonus structure and kudos to our upcoming stars on the sales team. I watched as the 95% of the company that is not in sales looked disgusted. These guys are completely out of touch and have no concept or care about how it really burned a lot of people. I’m in support as well, so happy tomorrow is my last day. Moving on to a better job, better pay, and better benefits.
I have been working in sales for a tech startup since December of 2019. Today they eliminated my department and I have been laid off. Conveniently, they cut my base pay by 1/3 on March 1st. This means that my accrued PTO was retroactively reduced by that same amount. That reduction in base pay means that my PTO payout has conveniently been reduced a few weeks before my position was eliminated.
Working in a technical support role. I’ve worked here for 6 months and showed great potential to this company I’ve gotten 90% customer satisfaction (company requirement is 80 minimum) Call evaluations have been 85+ and higher Have gotten a great deal of compliments from customers who requested my supervisor to put in some nice words And yet the other day my supervisors reached out to me to cause “taking too long writing a ticket” and essentially got rid of all the extra time to write it. They’ve told me 6 months in, when I had multiple call evaluations and one on ones and no one batted an eye. Now that I’ve showed potential they wanna take advantage and make me do more . I also found out from another coworker that I’m paid the least amount of compared to everyone else. Everyone gets $17-18.50 and I got $16. It ain’t…
