I work at a concert venue. I’m the in house VJ, so I need to be at every single concert. I usually show up to work an hour before the band gets there. But, since I got that overtime, I’ve been having to come into work 2-3 hours later than the rest of the production crew. It’s such bullshit, I’m only at 15 hours of work this week and my shifts usually last 8-12 hours. They’re making me lose sooo much money just because they had to pay me $60 extra dollars

They're kind of hard to spot on google, results mostly bring up credit unions and that's not what I meant.
Just felt like sharing this story from February last year so sorry if it’s not good haha. I worked as a full time manager at sonic starting in 2020. If you had to guess what a sonic manager gets payed would you guess 15/hr? 16? 17? I was getting payed 13.25 an hour. I got a 75 cent raise from my crew lead position as well as a ton more responsibility. It was my first ever job(got promoted as soon as I turned 18) and I didn’t realize that really was basically highway robbery. I was working 45+ hours a week closing 5 nights a week(sometimes more). I never asked to be a closer either she just decided to make me the closer and I just let it happen. My sleep schedule devolved to going to bed at 6 am and waking up at 3 pm for my 4 o…
I am tired of looking for jobs
I've worked at the same company for over two years. My team members and I all started with the company within 5 months of each other RIGHT before the pandemic started and we work amazingly well together. We got the company through many difficult times over the course of the past two yeaes, often putting in 70-80 hours a week each to meet deadlines. We've been essential in implementing new software over the past year and a half, which is supposed to streamline many of our manual processes and allow more time for much needed analysis. Fast forward to implementation date and the team is told that once we get through the first quarter they are restructuring the department and the team is being split up and we are being assigned all new tasks.. No one in management thought to talk to any of us about splitting up the team,…
I have an extensive portfolio that covers a wide variety of topics and styles. I'm often asked to link to my portfolio when I apply for work, but then they want me to write a test article to “see how I write.” My work is right there, you limp noodles. You can already see how I write. I got recruited to apply at Talentopia for what looked like a sweet gig. I did their grammar test, and was immediately wary when their “submit” window was rife with grammatical errors. Then they asked me to download and review about seven documents to “learn their style” and then submit a test article that they kindly allotted me 3.5 hours to complete. I sent them two sentences: “I don’t work for free, especially 3.5 hours’ worth. Stop expecting free labor as part of the interview process.” Somehow I don't think I'll get hired…
Every manager I know wants to stay home. I can manage my team fine at home and I’m busy all day and getting my work done from my apartment just fine. If executives wanted WFH and middle managers wanted everyone in the office, it wouldn’t happen. Execs control everything and it’s their idea to go back.
