I have a decent job that isn’t too demanding. I make a decent wage. Recently my department was bought by another company. We have all been WFH and when I initially started, I was onboarded as the first group of new employees to be completely WFH (at the start of the pandemic). Since the department changed hands, migrating end users to the new company’s platforms has been atrociously managed. Tech goes off line for days. IT doesn’t understand the work flow of the new department and can’t help my team members (my team members don’t even know what they need to be helped). Communication regarding changes and ongoing headaches is rare. The migration alone has been enough stress and frustration to walk away. On top of those issues though, are increasing tendencies for micromanagement and poor communication with team leaders (instant messages, email, text messages are rarely even acknowledged). Further,…
Month: April 2022
So about two weeks ago my wife's girlfriend (R)s mother was sent to the ICU after a bad fall. She has cancer and it's been getting worse. The doctors told her she had maybe a few weeks to 6 months left and that they were gonna put her on at home hospice care. She lives alone with R who is basically her caretaker meaning that R was to handle making the house wheelchair accessible and ready for when her mom comes back. The issue is their house is full of stuff from their grandparents who were hoarders. My wife immediately went up to stay at her house to help her while I stayed home and watched the cat since I had to work. Last week on Thursday I called my wife and she sounded mentally and physically exhausted. I had to help out and be there for her. I immediately…
A friend of mine accepted a Managerial job at an undisclosed fast food chain at 15/hr, after they've gotten through the hiring process they're wanting to start him as kitchen crew at 8/hr and the GM states that the managerial position was never offered, is there a legal avenue that the my friend can take if they have documentation otherwise? This is located in the state of texas btw. The time spent on the application process, interviews, and start of orientation, etc. Amounts to about 4 business days
Just because you get fired and you file for unemployment they can still deny you. So don’t hold off and hope that will help you in the short term, don’t make my mistake. I don’t know what I’m going to do. Make savings if you can. Even if it’s like $10 a paycheck. Something is better than nothing. Good luck everyone.
Is Suicide Your Retirement Plan?
I know, morbid AF right? But I feel like the suicide rates are really gonna jump up in the next couple of decades based on what a lot of people are saying about their “retirement plan.” Thoughts?
I’m just Saiyan…
message my boss sent out today
So, story time. I started a new job, standard work from home customer service. The company has agents across the country and my trainer happened to be on the west coast. So, when they sent us our schedules for our first production week, they sent them in MILITARY TIME. That’s not even the worst part. This morning, when I tried to log in, I was told I was early. Assuming the system was wrong, I started working for two hours before anyone in charge responded to me about the schedule confusion. After working in nesting mode for two days with this schedule, I learned that the schedules were listed under PST. So, I was supposed to be working THREE hours later. Spent the entire day trying to contact leadership with little response. It was nearing what I thought was my ending time. Since I hadn’t got a real response, I…
