The future of marketing at my workplace
So I'm working in a small franchise theater and just got an email from the headquarters. For context, we focus on musicals/fairytales for kids and sell the included songs after the show on CD. Here is the mail (names are changed): “Dear friends, Do you know the argument of parents that they don't have a CD player anymore when it comes to fairy tale CDs? We as publisher have reacted to this and provided CD players to support CD sales. You can find photos in the attachment. And now the hit: You get the CD players as commission goods, i.e. you have financially zero risk. The selling price is ××× and the purchase price is ××× + ×. Only the players that have been sold will be charged. Stephanie is looking forward to your order and will be happy to advise you. Best wishes and a happy week, Charles” I…
Looks like this fits here quite nicely
I teach a class at a university, have an LLC with a partner, run a non-profit, and do some I.C. work for a software company. I have separate email addresses for each of these, plus my personal account, and may need to create another one for another purpose soon. I don't want all of them going to my phone, because a lot of what I receive is spam/junk. But I'm getting overwhelmed by having to check each of these accounts multiple times per day, and sometimes I forget to check one for a few days and miss something time sensitive. I've been slowly changing things in my life over the past few years so that I don't need to be a direct employee to anyone, but that has come with its own set of new challenges. I'm not super tech savvy. Does anyone else feel this way, and what advice…
Rant about time off
Hello All, I’ve been a lurker for some time now but I finally have something to post. So, I have been working at a retirement home being a housekeeper. I genuinely enjoy my job, the residents, and my co workers. However, I’ve had a lot go on in the last 6 months resulting in me having to miss days. Like my grandmother passing, getting married, my brother getting into a life altering accident and doctors appointments to help better my mental illness and health. I was just told today that it’s unacceptable to need that many days off (mind you before all of these events, I rarely missed work and I ALWAYS have a doctors note.). They said I have to be knocked to part time to keep my job and I can’t miss anymore days for 3-4 months. Luckily they don’t have to worry about that because I make…

What’s your worst job yet?
Long post/rant so feel free to just comment your worst job below lol Over the last couple of years I've been trying various jobs in a few different industries and none have been manageable long term. Started as a volunteer in an office and was told if I keep up the good work that in 5 months time I'd get a paid apprenticeship for something like £180 per week. Lucky me….quit after a month because fuel was £20 a week Second up was a warehouse temp job part time ironically paying £180 per week. Did my 12 week contract and got extension. Worked a day job around this in the end because I was after more money and they gave the extra hours to someone else. Someone who they'd sacked previously which was even more stupid. Was doing 9am-2pm in an office manager role but truth being told I was…
Credit Union merger
There are two local giant credit unions merging in my area- they say they aren’t letting go of any employees but they won’t say they’re not going to re train their benefits or hours. Other than reducing competition and screwing employees, I’m not sure there’s any upside. Has anyone here worked for a credit union that merged?
