that's some dystopian shit right there

Remember when we were told that w/ a college degree, you could climb the corporate ladder to reasonable fluidity? And with proper health insurance benefits; and people that mentored & valued you? It was all a lie.

I have no one else to share the good news with but I got a job doing the same type of work I was doing a couple years ago. However, this job pays $5/hr more (which is huge for me) and is half the amount of work. Plus I get a $1,500 sign on bonus. The great resignation is working! You know your worth and if an employer doesn’t—leave!

Having drinks at this super-fancy hotel in Sorrento, Italy where the drinks run expensive and the bartender explains how the hotel has been in the same family for six generations. Didn’t know what to say and just went with ”Good for them I guess”. She went ”hehehe yeah I guess” and had a long hateful stare into nothingness.
