So I got hired as a “production manager” at a large car dealership. I knew absolutely nothing about the car industry and got hired on a whim. The place had 2 shops and I had the office in the smaller shop down the street. I was practically invisible and forgotten about for these whole 6 months. I was never trained or even really told what my responsibilities were. After about 2 months the main manager quit. After that is when I was truly invisible. I was put on salary at $1k a week plus a monthly commission. I would literally clock in then sit in my office playing computer games all day. It has been a great run but it’s finally ended. The place was losing money and needed to cut cost. They realized my position wasn’t needed so they laid me off because they couldn’t afford to pay me…

It's in Germany so I translated lol
Benifits benifit no one at my work
Going on two years now and still beside my name says PT(Part time) they even bumped me up to a Assistant manager of my own store! Checked … still just PT(they give me MAX 37 hours a week). So of course with Springtime is a bunch of new bennifits and promises, but oh look at that not a SINGLE person on my team is full time either… I don't like that at all. Is there something I can do to help us all out?
Fuck you Vishal Garg
I work in Engineering. So everyone in awhile there are events. I decided not to wear a tie, but I still wore dress shoes, pants and a Dress shirt. I should have worn a jacket but, I put it on this morning and thought it looked too small. So I went with my boss to this event where contractors and other engineering professionals were wearing boots, jeans, and short sleeve polos. I thought I looked pretty good, Especially considering everyone else. Well as we were walking into the event, the wind was smacking me directly in the face, So my hair got a little messed up. I fixed it as best I could but, apparently, according to my boss I was looking so unprofessional, that he did not want me to talk to single person, or hand out any business cards. I was so pisssed at him because he made…
Any ideas on what I might say? I have been with my company for 10 years, I have never had any disciplinary issues, and I am constantly recognized by colleagues and customers as an extremely responsive and helpful person in the organization. I do not have any direct reports at this time. On another note, I think it’s time to update my resume. Quick edit to add: I have been going into the office two days a week since the pandemic started. I now need to justify that two days is sufficient and I do not need to be in the office more days.
how do i tell them a two hour drive for training with no expectation of compensation is ridiculous? (ive been driving forklift for 6 years and they want to train me on a new machine) i already drive 45 minutes to work without traffic (southern california) id be driving almost a whole hour past the building i work at. unfortunately this kind of thing is expected of us and i almost feel like im being dramatic , because at the end of the day its not the company's fault i live that far away. but does anyone else think this is a little fucked? even people who live nearby would have to drive 45 minutes with no gas money from our job , or even the acknowledgment that its not a short drive.
