and prioritized our weaknesses. Strength Finders essentially teaches that we can all improve by focusing on our top five strengths. My experience is that they ignore the positive and ask people to assess the negative. Personally, this doesn’t correlate to results. It only correlates to fault. Or it correlates to a broad positive.
On mobile I'm one of the head managers in one of the most popular restaurants in my state. It is a family company and we promote within. I've worked hard hours and have taken the “constructive criticism ” over the years with a smile and that's why I am in the position I am in today. So, this girl has been working there for over a year. We have small riffs here and there, but our relationship is mostly good. She does get constant complaints from customers and other staff about the way she talks and treats people. She is the type to say she wants to stay, but then complains two hours into shift. She has to do a little extra work, it's all of a sudden “I'm the only one who does anything around here “. Just constantly shit like that. Her energy is rotten, toilet water energy.…
It’s the one that has a picture of probably LA traffic, talks about how you commute to your crummy job, go home to the house you can’t afford – or something similar. Does that ring a bell? It’s a little bit older, but I think I saw it come through here a few months ago. Anyone?
Stealing Tips
I've experienced wage theft of all sorts over the years. And it's one thing when managers, coworkers, and other employees take tips that aren't for them. But you ever have a customer reach into your tips? It enrages me. I've had so many customers just reach into my tip jar or dump it onto my counter while saying something like, “I'm sure you don't mind….” It's often people with money who don't want to break bills so they grab a few cents or a couple bucks to pay for their order. I can't explain the anger I feel when someone flicks their fingers through money that does not belong to them, right in front of the person they're stealing from. If a customer has no money or not enough change, I will help them in whatever way I reasonably can (right down to just giving them the product if possible).…
I’ve been working at this place for 12 years. Earlier this year I injured myself badly and needed to take sick leave. Long story short my manager didn’t forward the appropriate documentation on my behalf to payroll and as a consequence almost 2 pay cycles went by before I got paid my sick leave. Once back at work I sent a terse email to payroll enquiring as to why I wasn’t paid (this is before I got paid) The payroll lady got the shits and next thing I know I’m being asked to a meeting with HR and my manager. I’ve been super anxious about the upcoming meeting and preparing notes and cross checking relevant workplace laws and my contract. I’ve had trouble sleeping and constant butterflies in my stomach. Once in the meeting, where I demonstrated that it was work who fucked up, not me, I got an apology…
People should use Glassdoor more often
Just an observation. I worked for a bad company fresh out of uni and i should have checked their Glassdoor page beforehand. I made sure to leave an accurate review after leaving. I waited a bit to make the review so they wouldn't know who submitted it. This kind of info is vital to helping other workers like yourself avoid badly managed companies. Take a moment and leave an anonymous Glassdoor review of the bad companies you have worked for, it will make a difference.
