Hey, hey. So, I am at my wits end finally. I have been out of work for a week with bronchitis, which I have doctors' notes for. I was in the hospital for part of it due to an extremely difficult time breathing. I have been harassed to come in, regardless, and despite explaining over and over the amount of time I was signed out, they demanded I call in every day to talk to them. So, imagine my surprise when I got home from my extended stay at the hospital. They have me on the schedule for tomorrow from 7AM-3PM and then 7PM-7AM. Which, admittedly, I do have a four hour break. That is not enough time for me to come home or sleep, though, and I asked if I could have one shift or the other. I was denied, because they had to switch schedules to cover my…

My company is hiring an assistant for the owner and wanted to hear feedback from this group. No particular education experience needed. Would be great to have someone familiar with project management software. Most important trait is willingness to learn and contribute to help get company system’s in better order

Why are some employers requiring that you see their doctor for a physical before they hire you? Is this not a violation of your privacy? I would be willing to take a drug test but don't want their doctor touching me. BTW I am female and the last time I did a pre employment physical, it was a male doctor at a clinic that was hired by the company.

I am at a breaking point. I can't stand being used by corporations that give zero fucks about your well-being, your time, and your energy. You are only a cog in the machine, and if you break they just buy a new part. I am tired of giving up my life and time to these companies, and I don't make enough in the trade work I do in order to survive, much less have insurance go help with my disabilities. My place of work has has out of order bathrooms for over two weeks. The company decided to set up multiple portable potties outside for customers/ employees usage. Needless to say people have been calling in and I am one of those people. How a million dollar company can’t get toilets fixed for their employees ??

I basically just said that machines taking people's jobs shouldn't be a bad thing for society. If a machine takes the jobs of a group of people, the price should go down because the price to produce has gone down, and that person should have to work less hours, and the guy called me a communist. The best part was that the guy works in accounting. The guy literally works with imaginary numbers all day, meanwhile I work in construction literally putting up physical buildings. He called me lazy because I think machines should be doing our jobs for us instead of visa-versa

I'm tired of fantasy revenge porn and images of people owning their bosses. This sub was made to focus on real issues and not karma. The top posts are really making me lose any faith in the traction this sub had since the fox interview. “No text message screenshots” is literally rule 9, show some respect for the ideal if you don't respect the workers.

Honestly, im not happy at this job. Its been bullshit but it pays decently. I always have said to myself that the day I got fired, ill be upset because I wont make as much money but I'll go celebrate because fuck this job. The job itself isnt the worst but my manager expects the world from me and she doesn't do shit, thats what pisses me off. I guess im honestly just thinking what are the chances that I can bluff and say im quitting, walk out and expect a call? Were spread as thinly possible as we can be, I work alone most of my shifts and I have a friend that will walk out on the spot if I leave. I would love some advice on this since its all im thinking about lately.
