How do you people manage to keep a job, however crappy?

I’m sick and tired of the administration carousel. You start to get ignored and frozen out at work even though you work quickly and efficiently, and the next thing you know you’re handed a box and a letter and told to pack your shit. I recently got a full-time senior admin job with a company that loves trumpeting that it’s one of the 50 best managed companies in Canada according to the Conrad Black-owned media conglomerate. I was immediately set to work on digitizing HR files with a glimpse of hope for more diverse tasks once my boss had finished the major project she was in the middle of doing when I was hired. I settled down to work and found that it was a revolving door there. People quitting and getting fired almost every week or two. My boss became frosty as hell a few weeks in. Nobody assigned…

Just got an interview.

This isn't going to be the typical r/Antiwork post. I received a job interview request with a company that offered 40 different time slots for the interview. They had you record your name so they could share it with the team so everyone could pronounce it correctly and they asked about your preferred pronouns. I have never seen that from a company and I hope more adopt it going forward. (No I will not name the company as of now, I want the job.)

I’ve gotten wrongly paid for 8 months…

…they have OVERpaid! I actually have a decent hourly wage, but when I read my payslip, I couldn't belive it. I have worked a lot the last year, monthly pay have been good, didn't really check the last slips, but I'm not telling anyone! I'll put a lot into savings and shut up.

How can we convince people that working from home is good?

We have a strong push to getting people back to the office. With 1 to 2 hour commutes why can't companies see this is time wasted? Never mind exposure to bugs, viruses, crime, general human unpleasantness. The second issue is we have huge turnover. Part of this due to the push to go back to offices. This leads to significant pressure on the people still left behind. Which leads to more people leaving. And …. rational people see the cycle. But no, it's more important to get people into offices to “build a sense of community “. I call bullshit. It's a lack of trust. Please note presenteeism is just as likely to happen in an office than out of it. I want to write a LinkedIn article to join the myriad of others out there discussing this irrational drive to the office, not adjusting when people view with their…

I am quitting my job………Again

So, I have been with this company for 2.25ish years. I quite once after being a Temp for 6 months. My cousin was the one who got me the job, and was the one who convinced the Boss to let me back the first time. As a Temp the had me run a panel saw. Which turned out to be the bottle neck of the company. I was doing a 2 person job solo. I am a Army Veteran, I was discharged when I broke my hip. I was doing a lot of heavy lifting, at the end of every day I could barely walk. So I got into a yelling match with the boss and walked out at 9:00 on a Thursday morning. They asked me to come after about a week. (Also promises were broken) Fast forward to now, I turned in my two weeks notice. Management doesn't…
