I don’t care about conservative workers being exploited

How could I? They vote against their own interest and happily indulge in the corporate manufactured culture war. “Oh no, that trans athlete in high school is ruining America” while happily voting for a politician that will cut regulations that poison their water and take away any labor laws they have left. No sympathy for you.

Have your hours and wage been cut simultaneously too?

I work at FedEx Ground and went from making $21/hr all of last year on our “surge pay” to making $17.5/hr right now in 2022. Not to mention last year I was practically begged to stay longer, come in earlier, etc. and I found my job to be very reliable in demand for work. However, now we’re still running the same amount of volume a sort (volume = number of packages) yet the hours are shorter, the pay is lower, and they expect us to work harder. I mean, what the fuck?? I can’t even ask to clock in early, and they currently are scheduling me for 20 hours a week. I can’t even pay my BILLS at that rate. So I go search for other jobs right? When talking to friends and where they work they’re getting the EXACT same pay and hour cut at the SAME time. UPS…

How the public and working classes can challenge the cannibal psychopaths in the ruling class

This is a continuation of a prior thread regarding how the public is funding its own cannibalization, enslavement, and oppression via the stock market: https://www.reddit.com/r/LateStageCapitalism/comments/tu8a55/the_public_is_funding_its_own_cannibalization So what can be done about the situation? One thing is to see past the corporate/kleptocratic media propaganda and understand that a rising stock market built atop an enslaved and abused population is an abomination and a disaster, and a symptom of a society cannibalizing itself. Another thing is to rebuild something like the New Deal coalition. Step 1: Unionize local workplaces and industries Step 2: Organize with workers and unions outside of your particular industry Step 3: Challenge the abusive ruling class, which has enslaved and is eating and socially murdering the public and the working classes on a mass scale. As atomized individuals, the public and working classes would continue to be enslaved and destroyed by the cannibal psychopaths in the ruling capitalist/corporatist/kleptocrat…

Wanted to take a minute and thank my prior boss for firing me last year.

Has worked out amazingly well. New job with great benefits, a shop cat and good people. Had none of that at my last job. Thanks dude! 13 years wasted at that place. Don't be afraid to move on.

Instead of doing the closing dishes my coworker stashed them in the maintenance closet. I’m honestly impressed at how colossally lazy this is.

you not being able to cover a shift isn’t my fucking problem.

If you can't find someone to cover a shift or can't find a worker then you as a boss or manager should do it. My manager takes off twice a week turns off the work cell and just can't get ahold of him guess what I'm next in charge and get called naw. Fuck that I have a life. I do my contracted duties and no more. No I won't drop what I'm doing to cover for someone's shift because their kids shift. No I won't stop what I'm doing for a non emergency fix or even an emergency fuck it my time is my time and ill do it doing what I love. Managers and bosses need to step up and stop making us blue collar workers do their job because they think they are better than us.

Super-famous SV firm negotiates in super-bad faith

I worked at a Silicon Valley company that's extremely famous and spends millions on PR to promote their reputation. I was verbally promised a certain starting salary and moved from the East Coast to take the job. After I started, my paycheck was for 15% below the promised salary. My boss kept assuring me that it was a mistake that would be correct “at my next performance review.” Since I'd moved 3,000 miles, shipped all my stuff, broken up with my s.o., and let go of my prior apartment, I was highly motivated to believe him. Idiot me. They managed to have reasonable excuses for why it couldn't happen for 18 months. At that point, I asked for the raise to be retroactive when my boss brought it up again. He said “paying you that much at this point would require the Board of Directors to sign off on, because…

Companies that treat employees poorly do it for one reason – because they are getting away with it.

I have read countless postings of people finally getting fed up with their employer and quitting. I beg you all to please start also reviewing these employers on sites such as Glassdoor.com. Provide an honest review so that potential employees will know what they are getting into. Once these companies start struggling to find good employees they will have to change their ways; not to mention their tarnished reputation won’t sit well with management, the board of directors, or investors if publicly traded. So rant here, but help the next person out and prevent someone else from having to put up with the crap you had to put up with.
