The worst April Fools joke..

I was on a 6 hour flight from the west coast to the east coast for a company trade show when I started getting a bunch of messages from a work group chat. A bunch of the team were making jokes like “who’s trying to go get drinks? I need to drink this off” & “guess I’m homeless now” etc. A few of them messaged me directly telling me out team doesn’t exist anymore. I thought it was a coordinated prank on me since I was on this flight. Turns out, during my flight, our VP held a last minute meeting with the entire team, informing us that the C-Level team has decided to dissolve our entire team. This was not poor taste April Fools day joke. I wish it was. TLDR; During my 6 hour flight to a company trade show I learned my team had been dissolved. Fuck…

This forum saved my life, thank you

I just wanted to thank you guys for helping me out about my last post i took a lot of notes on what you guys told me and went for a second opinion when i found out my back is actually worse than the L5 portion. I will be seeing a neurologist, PT and chiropractor. I just just wanted to rant and help someone with my story but you guys were the ones who helped me. I broke down at the Doctor's office and told them everything I been going through at work with my coworkers, HR and Union. I didn't realize how bad it was until I broke down and admitted I thought about suicide and how i was planning to do at work. I am going to see a psychiatrist on Monday, I also reported my other Doctor who denied me anti depression medication 2 months ago. I…

I’m turning in my resignation, effective immediately, tomorrow.

I don’t have another job guaranteed to go to yet, but I have a few things in the works that are looking promising. I’ve given up the past 3 years of my life to this place, and I’ve had it. My wife is ok with it, and that’s all that matters. I have been on call 24hrs a day 365 days a year for the last 3 years. They won’t let me show anyone else what I do, so that I can avoid having to drive 40 minutes round trip just to plunge a toilet, or reset a door alarm. They won’t let me purchase what is needed for other repairs like the SPRINKLER SYSTEM at one of our buildings that requires a very large air compressor to run. So it quits working about once or twice a month and I get called in to get it running again. The…

I did it you guys thanks to all of you!

I have no one else to share this with so it's going here! And reading all the other stories here helped me so maybe this will help someone else. Last year, my team of 5 was down a person for 4 months, had a shitty newer employee who eventually quit in December and then 2 new employees started in December (read training). To say we were busy is an understatement. I was fully expecting to be rewarded handsomely for my efforts in February when our annual reviews were conducted and raises and annual bonuses were awarded. My review was excellent and I was feeling goooood. You guys….my company had record profits and “the biggest bonus pool in company history” – I got a 4% raise and my bonus was only $200 more than the year before (so technically less than the year before considering inflation). I was furious/angry/upset and I…

CALL TO ARMS: start giving businesses 1 star reviews for how they treat their workers

So I've got about 50 1 star reviews right now for all the grocery stores in my city. It goes a little something like this: “I'm giving every grocery store a 1 star review until cashiers are allowed to sit in chairs while they swipe my groceries. My prediction is I'm never going to stop giving grocery stores 1 stars but please prove me wrong by treating your workers like human beings for once.” It's cathartic. But it got me thinking. What if everyone in /r/antiwork started giving companies reviews for the workers? Maybe they'd review their inhuman treatment of their workers? I mean I doubt it but let's find out y'all!
