I got a grad job offer for £30k base salary and it comes with benefits. Industry: Engineering I'm still applying to other jobs as backup. Since nothing is set in stone until I get a contract and I sign it (it starts September and I'm still studying). I can finally wave my dick in the hiring staff's face when they read my response to “What is your current Salary (without benefits)” on the online application form. But some jobs are in other parts of the UK, besides the higher cost of a living but most importantly I will have to relocate! How much extra should I be asking that is feasible? And if I have to relocate?
Month: April 2022
WFH, My boss calls me asking for something I had promised to get done by the end of the day. It's not even 1PM yet. I told him it wasn't ready, I took some time to eat lunch and he was like,” you can't have lunch you don't work for McDonald's. We don't get paid minimum wage, so we don't get to have lunch”! I just kept eating my sandwich and allowed silence to hang between us for a brief moment.
Recruiter went quiet
In the spring I tend to get 5 or 6 blind reach out a week. I always reply as if they are real but mostly they are people who dont know what they are doing asking someone with 13 years of experience to do an entry level job 60 minutes from their home on contract for 3 months. I recieved a reach out recently and had some questions. The job seemed sorta close to what I am doing now so I thought I would respond. I have some questions regarding you email. The subject line says “Producer” the mail says “Associate Producer” which is correct? Please clarify the pay band for this position along with any perks that might come working for this company Is this a work from home situation? What is the name of the company you are recruiting for? What does Duration: 12+ Months actually mean? is…
Workers Unionize first Amazon in NY.
TLDR: Mr. Suit shamelessly tried to manipulate the entire workforce during a compensation dispute by saying, “Solar is the best way we can stick it to Putin.” My coworkers and I often find ourselves walking on a few inches of space on the edge of a roof 20 feet in the air. We also working. with electricity for a living. Both of these tasks can easily kill you. We pointed out we need to be compensated more. We made just enough noise to actually breakthrough our useless middle management. HR was “shocked” by our dissatisfaction. We had a branch-wide meeting, which was tense, but fairly productive. Everyone is eventually cooling down after being told we will in fact be receiving 7% raises to match inflation. And then Mr. Suit arrived. In the last 5 minutes of the meeting, of the workday, one of our co-founders makes a melodramatic entrance.…

Hello, Just received an email from the owner of our company, a small business in MN stating. Due to an error we will not be getting paid for multiple days, they also stated in the email they will not pay overdraft fees that are a result of this. What can we the workers do? I need this money for my mortgage and other necesities TODAY.
