Month: April 2022
Today is my birthday but of course I have to work, a 12-hour shift, my workplace is 2 hours away from home and I really feel bad about having to work, anyway my boss find out it was my birthday and he send me home! He is going to pay me for the day anyway! I find a diamond as a boss. Sorry for the English, not my first language.
Boss said I am not a team player …
Meeting with the Boss on Friday said I don't participate in out of workgroup functions he asked why I said I have my own life. He gave me a verbal warning that if I don't participate in the next few group functions I may be let go. I giggled and said have you read my contract. Edit 1 My contract states I get a 70,000 payment upfront if Terminated for any reason my base salary is 140,000 for 2 years Im 5 months in already so if I get Let go I get next year off 1 year vacation
Flight crews chime in.
Didn't know this was an actual thing. You can be required to report to work in a highly secure environment, be there at a time certain, but not be “on the clock” until a certain event occurs at the workplace? How the what the?
Long story short, I work in corporate America with some people who have been bullying me for a while. We have never socialized together outside of the office which should have been my first red flag. My much-more-senior colleague convinced me to attend a networking event for people in our industry. Made a big deal out of how great an opportunity it was and “putting me on the list” so I didn’t have to buy a ticket to enter. When I got there, she introduced me to no one and immediately I was trained on how to be a bar tender. For the first time in my life I bar tended an event, around 200 people, beers on tap and having to run crates full of dirty glassware through the dishwasher in the back. Directing people to the bathroom and the elevator and being asked about an event I literally…
It’s always the workers’ fault
Boss said I seem unmotivated at work
The other day over a meeting, my boss said I seem unmotivated at work. I mostly work from home but I login when I am supposed to and complete all the task assigned to me. I do everything I’m supposed to, I just don’t get excited over it. It’s just regular office work so you would have to be insane or a dumbass to actually enjoy it. So I may not be overjoyed at work, but I still think it’s bullshit to be expected to act like you love your job.
