I have never ever worked a friday and she knows that I can’t. But this friday in particular more important than any other friday I could not come to work. I let her know and she still put me on. I don’t even need this job. Cooperate breaths down our necks telling us to me meet our numbers. Dawg I’m literally a cashier. I can’t help it if it’s a slow day.

The vendors who have previously used Etsy are boycotting it, due to being charged for selling their own products on the site. The middle man is trying to get more out of these people than is fair simply because they can. I wanted to know what people in this sub thought about that? If anyone has any more insight, I’d love to hear it.

So I recently realised I’ve not been receiving the correct entitlements, and I asked if they could look into annual leave loading. I’m entitled to it as the type of employee I am, and I stated the clause which said that. It’s been weeks since I first asked, and I keep hearing ‘we pay you well above award wage’. Which in fact they don’t, they pay me $1 above award wage and then underpay me $6 per hour on a weekend, and like $50 an hour on public holidays (which I realised I have no way of proving because my pay slips don’t specify). I work in the casino industry. I apparently work in the worst one you can in our county. I mean it's lousy but I didn't realize how bad it really is. I work in security if you will We are part time but always hit full time hours only make basic pay unless you're a dealer or server (we're not a tribal casino). I pick up extra shifts as our department has 4 people in it. Because one co worker was a pretentious jerk and the other has alot of stuff going on. I have four part time jobs with 90%-100% flexibility (two jobs require a minimum of five hours a week, two have no minimum requirements). I can decide if I work morning or evening, or not at all. I make a minimum of 14$ and a maximum of 25$ an hour. I can decide I'm sick of one job for a week or two and then work full time at that job for the next week or two. I take vacation when I need, schedule my work around my life and not the opposite and in general, i'm just happy with how much I have control over my life. Probably going to get down voted to oblivion… But here it goes I recently asked my boss for a raise to help off set high inflation. Boss said no, they couldn't give me a raise. I then started looking and found a job who would pay me what I was asking. I went back to my boss told him I found a new position and gave my 2 week notice. Then my boss told me “Congratulations I'm excited for you and your family, thank you for all you have done for the team, and you will be missed.”. He asked what it would take for me to say, he said he couldn't match it. We also scheduled a team lunch, which he paid for out of pocket.
