It makes me so mad how r/antiwork is now. It was never about not working, it was about fixing the issues with workplace exploitation and the fact that the working class should have more power to change the injustices. If you work full-time, even as a singular person, you should have enough money and time to live your life comfortably. We should not be slaving ourselves so that a very small percentage of of people(oligarchs) can rule the world. We live in an age where we have enough resources for everyone to live happily. I'm so sick of this unfairness!

I would like to start by saying that I understand I may have a different perception on the world given that I am young in the 3rd cheapest state to live in although, these ideas are still valid if not as possible elsewhere. The concept is called FIRE (Financial Independence & Retire Early) there are 2 main ways of achieving it. Lean fire is what most people see and criticize, this is where someone lives of an extremely low amount and invests the rest. People who do this typically get there savings rate up to 60-90%. The other side of the coin is to raise your income but that is much easier said than done. It has the same math behind it though. I am 2 years into my “career” after college and in the first job I got out of college (during peak covid summer). Now that I’m in deep, I am starting to find it very hard to cope with the “extras” that come with corporate life. I’m a chemist, so the work I’m usually assigned is already pretty intensive, but the people who are in charge drive me up the wall. I’m crying while working usually once a day. There’s gaslighting from my department manager, people who are in positions above me will sit on their butts all day and dismantle your character and talk shit and then pretend like they didn’t do it when you hear them. It’s ass backwards. Most people at my rank are starting to put in their notices. The atmosphere has been charged ever since reviews about a month ago. Some ass who does nothing…

So my friend wasn’t getting paid the whole week by his company, it was his first month and the boss said it would be there until the 5th. Well Saturday he told me about his situation, and I wrote him an email that he should send to our local labor court and I advised him, that he sends a screenshot to the boss. My idea was that he would be smart enough (the boss) to pay him instead of paying him and the fines and fees from court.
