I’m so upset and sngry
Spent years as a postal worker, working my ass off, let go because of cutbacks. Retrain as a, programmer, hoping to get a job and I've now spent a year looking. I kinda ant to give up and just wither away. Sorry if not appropriate for this subredit
Employers: My beard is a compliment.
I (33m) work from home, mostly full time. My boss isn't much into the working remote way of things. He believes in a face to face conversation and he wants to see our faces daily on an 11 o'clock meet up via a teams meeting. I'm super introverted and really enjoy staying at home and my privacy so I can't be bothered to turn on my camera half the time. But when I'm forced to turn on my cam there's always some comment about my appearance or clothing. I always work in jeans and a t-shirt but when I know I have to turn on my camera I keep a button up shirt in my office that I throw on real quick. But when I'm on-camera it's either my beard is to scraggly, my shirt isn't pressed enough or my hair isn't perfectly combed. Aligned with some arbitrary society rule…
Work a factory job and work with pallets on verticle roller bars(on the floor nearly perpendicular from standing position) when pulling a pallet of mean green(weed killer, maybe?) my foot got caught between the bars and the pallet, probably 600lbs(272kg) or so crushed my ankle. couldn't move my foot for 3 days. went to the hospital from work in ambulance and they gave a 1 work excuse.
so they haven’t paid me
Is it legal for my employer to not pay after two weeks? So I was working at a shipping store Needless to say the owner made my life a nightmare creating a hostile work environment, and kept implying she'd let me go after knowing I can't work weekends for school and I told her I was getting a new job and I needed to cut my hrs there and at the time I was still waiting for my first paycheck and I noticed she hadn't paid me and I was like ?? What the hell and so I started my second job sooner than later and she basically let me go in person after she wasn't working with me and now I'm getting a paper check but she tried to say I didn't show up for a shift and didn't answer when my mom asked about my paycheck and made…
Another Avoid Robert Half Thread
I'm finally writing off Robert Half after a slew of terrible experiences from their “salaried professionals” program. It finally occurred to me that the reason I have had some of the worst experiences of my entire 15 year career is because I work for a terrible organization with terrible clients. While being in this program, I dealt with a barrage of hostility, chaos, and disorganization from most of the clients I worked with. The thing about working for Robert Half, despite being their full-time employee, is that the client still views you as temp. And with clients who already create a poor environment for their own employees, they treat temps like subhuman excrement. I realized that a lot of clients I worked with called upon Robert Half due to high turnover rates caused by systemic cultural issues within. Poor management, no WLB, messy overall environment. Think about it. Why wouldn't…

I started working with a new company back in January. The plan according to them was for me to start off at a lower hourly rate, learn how the company works and runs, and then when I was ready I was going to be promoted to essentially a business rep position. I've only been told, since then and now, that this promotion was a salaried position. This company is a smaller one, definitely not big box retail that I'm coming from, so we have one “HR” guy, but it's clear that he doesn't know what he's doing. When I discussed everything with him after I was told that I was going to start the position, I was told that I was going to be paid X/hr at 40 hours a week. This was weird to me at the time since I was expecting a salaried position to be and actual…

How is there a cost to living??
Does anyone else think it's strange that there's a cost of living?! PLEASE STOP and REALLY THINK ABOUT THOSE 3 WORDS! The meaning behind those 3 words have never dawned on me before until talking with someone recently about their reason to not want kids… They said it is bc of the cost of living. And now I can't stop thinking about those 3 words… that there is a COST TO LIVE?! The only cost of living should be dying but we're literally working for others and paying other's just to be able to live?? Or to live comfortably! Seems as though 99% of the human population are slaves and we have to pay ridiculous prices for our own survival… the more we work…the more the remaining 1% takes and they respond by saying there's a high demand for everything which is why prices are going up for everything! Bc…
