I'm just tired of it. I was fired off a week after Christmas as they discovered they no longer needed another person to handle the workflow. And I was just laid off, by text message no less, by a smaller family owned style business that no longer could afford me or my two coworkers. It's just exhausting, and I was already through with this. I've been slowly hyping up and building up my own side business, and I planned to quit this company anyway as they mismanage literally everything, but I hadn't planned on it being so soon. But fuck this, I'm done. I'm tired of the extra long hours, no holidays off due to the industry, or scheduling around work. I used to work at a online car dealership as a truck driver hauling there inventory around, then took a promotion into middle management. I decided I didn't like the work culture in that position and asked to be demoted back to a driver. Upper management's response was that I could go back to driving but I'd lose my almost 3 years of seniority which put me at the top of the list as far as picking routes and what shift I wanted to bid on. I was not about to lose all my seniority so I put my 2 weeks notice in and started looking for a new job. I'm not even sure this is the right place to post this but fmla apparently hasn't faxed my doctor the paperwork for my leaves yet my work place got it. I've sent emails and left voice messages yet havnt gotten any reply from fmla. My doctor has said he hasn't received anything which worries me. Anyone else have a problem with fmla not working right? Any tips to, I have to call my work place back and tell them some paperwork hasn't been filled out or something but I don't think they'll believe me.

I've been taken off a team and it results in a loss of 6K for me. The only reason given (and it wasn't in writing) was that it was easier for the newest team member to take over my responsibilities versus for she and I to share and her have to also take on something else to balance her hours -as most of the rest of us do. We usually have two projects going. She has had only one this year and will continue that next year. I have seniority, and am about twenty years older. So the job I was doing is basically dissolved, because she's taking over all of it. It doesn't give her more money (the stipend tops out at 6K) but it takes the stipend away from me. I don't know what (if anything) I can do.

I have a degree (graphic design) I have experience in photography and some IU UX experience (mostly in school). I just want an entry level job to make a steady check and get a foot in the industry. I can’t find anything I graduated during the height of Covid it’s exhausting trying to just find something to get in the door.

So I just need a food phone call excuse fo get my boss out of a meeting, he would do the same for me because our company is corrupt and terrible. any good excuses bearing in mind it’s a small company??
